JAMB Warns CBT Centers, Vendors, And Staff Against Storing Of Candidates Data For The UTME/DE Registration In 2022.

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has warned all operators of Computer Based Test centres, e-pin vendors, JAMB staff, and others involved in any aspect of the 2022 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) and the Direct Entry (DE) registration exercise against keeping any of candidates’ data in order to ensure that candidates are not extorted or subjected to unnecessary pressure.

As a result, the Board stated that no official in the registration value chain is authorized to hold applicants’ profile codes, UTME registration numbers, or phone numbers, which they may provide throughout the registration process.

Candidates, on the other hand, are asked to guard their information (data) jealously by submitting their details to only designated personnel and ensuring that what they provide is not duplicated or maintained anywhere, according to the Board’s weekly bulletin.”This information was required as a result of the monitoring exercise of the start of the exercise, which began on Saturday, February 19, 2022.”

To guarantee a smooth operation, JAMB’s Registrar, Prof. Is-haq Oloyede, visited centers in Lagos and Ilorin, while other members of management visited states throughout the country’s six geopolitical zones to examine the situation. The Registrar hailed the start of the registration process, which had started quietly, as a positive start, and assured them that all of the little glitches will be resolved.Candidates can also generate their profiles using the USSD code 66019, according to him. In other news, the Board has given all accredited Computer Based Test centre owners permission to manage access to the Board’s services in order to undertake some specialized activities and to widen one of their services.

As a result, from Tuesday, February 22nd, 2022, applicants can utilize this service at any CBT center countrywide. The registration of candidates who wish to obtain application forms for Part-Time, Sandwich, National Open University of Nigeria(NOUN), and Distance Learning programs is one of the services being liberalized. The Board, as a proactive agency, seeks to decongest the massive throngs that have gathered at its numerous sites. This eliminates the need for candidates to visit the Board’s offices for these services.
